What to expect

On the first visit, a detailed case history will be taken and you may be asked to remove some of your clothing to allow a physical examination to take place. This examination might include looking at how you stand and move, palpation and movement of your muscles and some orthopaedic and neurological tests.

Once a diagnosis is reached, a treatment plan is formulated to suit you, with your agreement and tailored to your specific needs. This may require follow-up appointments, but this will be discussed fully with you.  After your first treatment you will leave with a treatment plan, with treatment as agreed and take away advice on exercises and a full understanding on what’s next. At any time, even after your consultation, you can get in touch to ask questions.

Prices

Full initial consultation (including treatment) – £60

Follow-up appointments according to your individual treatment plan – £35

Fee for missed appointments or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice – £20

About Lynn Robertson

BSc (Hons) Osteopathy

I have an honours degree in Biochemistry and a Masters in Clinical Biochemistry. After working in the National Health Service using my degrees in the clinical setting, I moved into the Pharmaceutical Industry. I worked extensively in clinical safety as part of clinical research until I retrained as a professional osteopath in 2004.

I graduated from The College of Osteopaths with an honours degree in osteopathy in 2009 (my degree in osteopathy took 5 years). I am also qualified in the use of ultrasound and dry needling (Western acupuncture). Previous to moving back home to Scotland, I worked for several years as an osteopath in Hertfordshire, moving to North Ayrshire in 2012. In 2018, Helensburgh became my home.

Where is the clinic?

I run an osteopathy clinic at Lomond School Sports Hall (Rhu Rd Higher, Helensburgh, G84 8YJ).

The sports complex has ample free parking. When you arrive, please send me a message and I will meet you in the entrance.  I will then show you to the treatment room so you don’t get lost. All rooms are warm and fully equipped to make your visit as pleasant as possible.

What areas do I cover?

Helensburgh is located in Argyll and Bute, on the Firth of Clyde, not far from the Royal Naval Base at Faslane. The town is situated just outside Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, though Balloch, Luss, Arrochar, Drymen and Balmaha are all within easy reach.

Driving from Glasgow or Paisley, you would come via the Erskine Bridge and either take the A82, along the side of Loch Lomond (you will pass signs for Alexandria and Balloch) or via the A814, through Dumbarton and Cardross. Once in Helensburgh, go to Sinclair St (A818 – the main road cutting up through the middle of town) and follow signs for Helensburgh Cricket and Rugby Club. Lomond School Sports Hall is immediately opposite the Rugby Club.

Lomond School Sports Hall is located approximately 1.2miles from Helensburgh Central Station.
The 316 bus runs every 30 minutes from Helensburgh town centre to a stop on West Kings Street near Ardencaple Crescent. A footpath then takes you up to Rhu Road Higher, near to the Sports Hall (5 minutes walk). The bus also connects the towns and villages around Gareloch including Cove, Kilgreggan and Garelochhead, and goes as far as Coulport.

Choosing the right osteopath is an important decision. You want to know that you are seeing a professional that you can trust. If you have any questions about how I can help you, then please call.
